Overview of the 2023 Dodge Challenger

The 2023 Dodge Challenger is the last edition, marking the end of an era for the Challenger versions that have been around for decades.  

The first edition of the Challenger was the 1959 Dodge Silver Challenger. It was reinvented to produce a new Challenger which debuted in 1970. After being discontinued in 1983, the Challenger reappeared in 2008 with a combination of quality design and performance engines to command authority over American roads. 

 

To commemorate the end of an era, Dodge has lined up a last call: 2023 Dodge Challenger editions. These include the Black Ghost, Shakedown Special Edition, Demon 170, Swinger Special Edition, Destroyer Gray, Blacktop Special Edition, and HEMI V8 Engine. 

 

The Last Call: 2023 Dodge Challenger editions will all have an aluminum “Last Call” plaque showing the car’s image, place of manufacture, and a stamp to commemorate the final year of this legendary car.

2023 Dodge Challenger Performance

The new 2023 Dodge Challenger comes in five different engines, ranging from extreme to unbelievable power.  

The V8 engine is the most aggressive version, producing immense amounts of horsepower, making the new 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 edition the fastest muscle car. 

 

Widebody models feature 20x11-inch wheels and Pirelli ® P Zero® tires for enhanced straight-line and lateral grip. They also add fender flares for wheels and tire coverage. It also features performance upgrades such as the Adaptive Damping Suspension and Brembo Performance Brakes. 

 

The 2023 Challenger features three types of brake systems including the Brembo four-piston brake system, sport brake system, and Brembo six-piston brake system.  

 

Other unbeatable performance features of the 2023 Challenger include the SRT Power Chiller®, Line Lock, Launch Assist, Launch Control, and Race Cooldown. 

 

The new 2023 Dodge Challenger comes in four SRT® drive modes, allowing you to customize its settings and personalize your driving experience. The drive modes include track mode, sport mode, custom mode, and auto mode. 

 

The Dodge Challenger is currently the world’s first and only muscle vehicle with accessibility to all-wheel SXT models. It determines AWD activation and front axle disconnect for RWD. It uses vehicle dynamic control (VDC) technology to enhance the safety of dynamic stability control while retaining AWD mobility.

This edition is based on R/T Scat Pack and R/T Scat Pack Widebody models. Key features include a Mopar® Black hood pin kit, Widebody form available in gray or black, a six-piston Brembo brake system with red calipers, red “392” Fender and “Shakedown” spoiler graphics, and red interior accent stitching. 

The 2023 Dodge Challenger Swinger Special Edition trim level.

Swinger Special Edition

This edition is based on the R/T Scat Pack Widebody, and key features include a gold school ‘Challenger’ grille badge and a painted shaker hood scoop, retro green stripe, and basil green interior accent stitching. It is available in green or white. 

The 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost Special Edition trim level.

Black Ghost

This edition is based on the SRT® Hellcat Redeye Widebody and key features include a pitch-black exterior with gator skin vinyl roof, white deck lid stripe, leather and suede upholstery, a bright “DODGE” Hood badge, and a Red LED SRT® logo on the steering wheel.
