The Wrangler Legacy: A Glimpse into the 2024 Model

From its early history as a role player in World War II battlefields to the reconfiguring of its design for civilian use at the end of the 1940s, the Wrangler continued to add value, grew its wheelbase to meet consumer demand, and added far more enhancements to go from desert terrain to backroads, country adventures.

In the 1990s, a 6-cylinder engine and the Renegade model were launched, bringing with it a way for consumers to take to the hiking trails in a new way, adding anti-lock brakes and an optional automatic transmission for 4-cylinder models. A significant redesign in 1997 launched the Jeep Wrangler TJ, and though short-lived, it was a modern powerhouse providing consumers with more options. The more modern version of the Wrangler was released in 2003 with the introduction of the Rubicon.

The Wrangler of 2024 maintains a lot of the same body style and design goals as that initial Rubicon but also adds in the technology, durability, and power that more modern vehicles today have to have.

Jeep Wrangler Off-Road Capabilities

A pioneer in off-road technology, the Jeep Wrangler for 2024 brings power with it, including a 4x4 powerhouse with 33-inch off-road tires and rear locking differential (on the Willys) and the Rubicon's shocks and rocks rails with Trail Rated capability.

Key to this vehicle’s success is the features that enhance performance, including its traction, ground clearance, and water-fording technology. Articulation and maneuverability are enhanced on the 2024 model. This year’s model has altered the rear axle to allow for a full-floating design, which could enhance overall performance and improve the camber stiffness. It can handle the trail just that much better.

2024 Wrangler Interior Features

The 2024 model offers options in cloth or Nappa leather seat trim and rear-folding seats to maximize floor space. It’s roomy, as expected, and designed for comfort.

The 2024 brings with it reimagined front seats that offer 12-way power adjustments to find just the right level of comfort. This is a new upgrade that allows for the vehicle’s electronics to remain protected even when water fording (which is only done on the Sahara and above models for safety). The company also changed up the side-curtain rollover airbags, which are not better concealed within the rollover structure.

2024 Wrangler Technology Enhancements

Technology is paramount on the road, and the 2024 offers a lot of available options, including the Uconnect 4 Infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. That's now standard on the Wrangler. The manufacturer is also working with Trails Offroad, which provides access to Off-Road Trail Guides for any skill level across 200 destinations, including the Jeep Badge of Honor trails. That's accessible with an Adventure Guides All-Access Membership.

The vehicles now offer options like a Wireless iPhone on The Go with Wireless Apple CarPlay and 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot that allows for the connecting of up to 8 devices in a 50-foot radius. Other tech upgrades include remote vehicle start, vehicle health report, and available Send & Go.

Safety Features in the 2024 Wrangler

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler has received the J.D. Power award based on initial quality, dependability, performance, and designs within its segment.

Some mechanical updates have been made to the side curtain airbags, as mentioned, to enhance safety. More so, the inclusion of standard forward collision warning in the Sport S and above models and the Standard advanced cruise control features make the 2024 model a bit safer than older versions.
