The New 2024 Ram 1500

a red truck driving over mud and rocks

The Ram is the high watermark for luxury, sophistication, and power in pickup trucks. The 2024 Ram 1500 builds on that legacy, offering drivers a rugged workhorse truck that's still packed with advanced technology.

The 2024 Ram Truck has eight trims, each with its own unique characteristics. We've broken down what each trim offers to help you choose the right combination of power, capability, and efficiency and what features it provides.

2024 Ram 1500 Performance Specs

The Ram 1500 comes with two engine options: the standard 3.6L V6 engine, producing 305 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, and a 5.7L Hemi V8 engine that boosts those numbers to 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.

Either of these options will get the job done, but for those who need a little more power, the V8 Hemi is an excellent choice.

While there haven't been any significant design changes to this stellar full-size pickup, adding an eTorque Mild Hybrid Technology option on certain trims helps decrease emissions while increasing performance.

2024 Ram 1500 Interior Features

Depending on the trim, the interior can be upgraded with luxurious features such as heated and ventilated leather seats, a 12" touchscreen media center, and a panoramic sunroof.

The 12” touchscreen media center is one of the most extensive Uconnect systems ever offered on a truck and has been praised for its easy-to-use interface.

Power-adjustable seats, dual-zone climate control, heated steering wheels, and an optional 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system are all available, bringing comfort and convenience to your drive.

2024 Ram 1500 Towing Capacity

When upgraded with the 5.7L Hemi V8, complete with eTorque, the Ram 1500 has an impressive towing capacity of 12,750 pounds.

That kind of power is perfect for those who need the capability to tow heavy items such as a large trailer or even a boat.

The 3.6L V6 also offers plenty of power, boasting a towing capacity of up to 7,730 pounds.

While the maximum payload capacity of 2,300 pounds isn't market-leading, it's still impressive considering the truck's size.

2024 Ram 1500 Safety and Modern Features

The Ram offers a plethora of tech features such as Apple Carplay/Android Auto integration, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning.

These features allow the driver to drive safely in any condition, allowing for a smooth and confident ride.

The Ram also earned 5 stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in crash tests, offering drivers peace of mind knowing they are as safe as possible on the road.

2024 Ram Truck Trim Levels

This base-level trim has a 3.6L V6 engine, a four-door quad cab, and a 6-foot-4-inch bed. These can be upgraded to a 5.7-liter V8, a 5-foot-7-inch bed, four-wheel drive, and an upgraded four-corner air suspension.

It has basic amenities such as air conditioning and cruise control but is meant to be an affordable entry-level option. Optional safety upgrades include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Tradesman HFE

A slight upgrade on the Tradesman, the Tradesman HFE (High Fuel Efficiency) comes with the same 3.6L V6 engine but is restricted to rear-wheel drive.

The fuel efficiency can be further upgraded with the optional 33-gallon fuel tank.

Big Horn

The Big Horn is the next step up from the Tradesman, adding a range of upgrades and offering a choice of multiple upgrade packages that bring even more features to the table.

The engine options are still the same, but the exterior is upgraded with 18-inch alloy wheels and fog lights, which can be further upgraded with different appearance packages.

The tech upgrades are also significant, with a garage door opener, auto-dimming rearview mirror, voice command, and front and rear parking sensors.

If you want more tech, optional upgrades include an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation, a heads-up display, and a 10-speaker audio system.

The first trim to come with the V8 as standard, the Laramie rides the line between luxury and performance.

The larger engine gives you more power for towing and hauling, while inside, the cabin is comfortable and luxurious, with leather seating surfaces, heated front seats, a 12-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat.

The 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation is also standard on the Laramie, along with a 10-speaker Alpine audio system.

Upgrades include a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 19-speaker audio system, and parallel and perpendicular park assist

Standout features

  • Luxury feel:  The Laramie offers all the luxurious touches you'd expect from a top-level trim on other vehicles, such as leather seating surfaces and heated front seats.
  • V8 power:  The 5.7-liter V8 engine gives you all the power you need for towing and hauling.

The designated off-roader of the bunch, the Rebel offers up plenty of features tailored for rugged terrain. Equipped with a 1-inch factory suspension lift, the Rebel has increased ground clearance and off-road capability.

It also gets all-terrain tires, an electronic-locking rear differential, hill-descent/-ascent control to help the truck tackle steep grades, and skid plates to protect the undercarriage.

Despite its rugged nature, the interior is still comfortable and luxurious, with an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a synthetic leather dashboard, and a leather steering wheel.

Standout features

  • Off-road capabilities:  The Rebel is designed for off-roading, with features such as a 1-inch factory suspension lift, all-terrain tires, and skid plates.
  • Luxury interior:  Despite its rugged exterior, the Rebel still offers a comfortable and luxurious interior.

Limited Longhorn

Building on the Laramie, the Longhorn adds various tech features, such as automatic high beams, adaptive headlights, rain-sensing wipers, heated rear seats, navigation, and front and rear parking sensors.

The exterior also gets upgraded with 20-inch alloy wheels to give it a more luxurious look.

Standout features

  • All the benefits of the Laramie:  The Longhorn includes all the same features as the Laramie, such as a leather interior and power-adjustable seats.
  • Tech upgrades:  The Longhorn adds a range of tech upgrades to make life easier, from automatic high beams to rain-sensing wipers.

Unfortunately, this is the last year you'll be able to get the ultra-high-performance TRX variant. Equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, the TRX delivers an impressive 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.

Bilstein shocks, 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires, and a high-performance exhaust are all standard, and the TRX also includes four-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The exterior of the TRX gets a more aggressive look, with a wider grille, flared fenders, and flared box sides. At the same time, the premium performance interior keeps you stable and in control, even on the most demanding off-road trails.

Standout features

  • Power:  The TRX's supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine gives it an impressive 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful trucks on the market.
  • Off-road capabilities:  The TRX is designed for tackling tough off-road trails, with features such as Bilstein shocks, 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires, and high-performance exhaust.
